Best own goal you've ever seen?

There have been some good 'uns over the years. One sticks in my mind. From the late 70s or early 80s. Home to QPR. Corner to us. Big defender called Bob Hazel climbs above everyone else and sends a rocket of a header into the top corner. No keeper would have stopped that.

Steve Walford scored a lofted beauty for us….totally unnecessary as well if I remember rightly…..kind of kicked off his battering he got from us….

One of my all time favourites was Mike Doyle’s of Manchester City for us at home in 1973-74.
Graham Paddon, on his debut, crossed it into the box and Doyle dive headed it past his own keeper. We went on to win 2-1 after being one nil down.
We had struggled in the league up until that point but this result had given us momentum. We went on to escape relegation after some notable wins.

I was just about to post the same thing. It might not have been the most spectacular own goal but it was the most satisfying, especially since a Doyle tackle had earlier put Trevor Brooking out of the game.

Yeah that Pollock one was amazing - nice bit of skill and that result got them relegated on the final day

Peter Rodrigues sent a 30 yard diving header past his own goalkeeper. I think he was playing for Leicester

Bob Hazel scored a cracking header for us early 80's.....equally as good as the Bart mans effort
